dreams

For the past 2 night, I've had dreams of impending personal danger and destruction. Very rarely do I even remember the content of my dreams, but these were both extremely vivid and both caused me to wake up.
On Sunday night, I dreamt I was skateboarding down a hill that looked a lot like 2 mile Hill (Dallas Pike). However, the hill was sloped differently. As though, I was starting at the Highlands and going down eastward. I never been able to operate a skateboard effectively. As I approach the bottom, the road turns into a swamp and I end up wearing a pair of roller blades. I'm trying to navigate through the swamp - it reminded me of a picture of the Puget Sound in Oregon. And of course I start sinking and getting bogged down. When I feel as though I'm totally helpless and sinking, I wake up.
Last night, I dreamt I was on the front porch of a house in a prairie like setting and I spot a tornado off in the distance. I ask a man in the house (not sure who it was) how far off he thinks the tornado is. He says, "I don't know" and then I say "seems like the distance from Wheeling to Wellsburg." The house is a standard brick colonial (probably 4 bedroom/2 bath). I suggest we'd better head inside as a few other tornadoes have started to form (same distance). We retreat into the living room and there's woman (not sure who it was) staring out the window and she says something to the affect of "Oh god, look at all the other ones coming." I stare out the living room window and there's probably about a dozen funnel clouds approaching. That's when I wake up.
Maybe once a year or so, I have a nightmare where I wake up in a sweat. I wasn't perspiring on either occasion, but I was definitely unsettled and agitated. I'm curious to see if another dream hits me tonight.

I neglected to mention, in the second dream, when I retreat into the house, I try to shut the door, but there's no knob or handle. I manage to close it for the most part. The flap at the base of the floor is awkwardly sticking up. It's made of a black rubbery plastic composite.

Tornadoes - Dream Symbols

Dreaming about tornadoes is a way of dealing with destructive, uncontrollable forces in your life. A tornado strikes without warning, and there is little you can do to stop it.

How is the tornado affecting your world, in the dream? Is it just after you? Is it a loved one that it is after? The tornado is representing your real life fears, the chaos you feel is destroying your way of life. It's not something you can control or plan for, or try to reason with. It's something you have to find a way to get away from.

If the tornado is swooping down to destroy your home, it could be that you fear something (or someone) is threatening your way of life. It's a force out of your control. While in real life you probably won't be able to control this threat, you need to find ways to deal with it, even if this means getting away from the threat so it no longer has power over you.

SWAMP : Swamps tend to link to moments when you feel lacking in motivation. They show you are maybe stuck in a routine. [

You're clearly in love with your mother and want to kill your father.

My spirit guide tells me that tornadoes are sign of a bad hair day in the near future. Is there a screen door? She said if there was a screen door that you should let your beard grow out. My spirit guide also says a swap with mosquitoes means you need to clean the basement, without mosquitoes means nothing at all, just a random occurrence. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to read what tonight will bring. I have my spirit guide on hold. Man I am sure glad you shifted your focus to spirituality. (really, I mean it.) Smitty

I really appreciate the input, even G Max. Perhaps I am feeling a lack of control lately - some degree of helplessness. I'm not sure I want to discuss the exact details in this forum, perhaps privately. I had surmised what the tornado and swamp represent.
Matt - strange that you mention the bad hair day. Last week, I went to Fiesta to get a haircut but it was too crowded so I came home and cut it myself - I really butchered it and have been wearing a ball cap ever since. That's not entirely unusual since I wear a ball cap most of the time. However, I have been looking for a good opportunity to get a haircut. I think I'm going in a few hours.
As for the basement, I don't really have a basement. I do have the cat room and I should probably clean up the cat litter that Meowee flicks out with more regularity.

I forgot to mention. There was no screen door on the house in the second dream. No mosquitoes in the first dream.
Regrettably, I can't discuss recent events in a public forum of this nature - just the dreams will have to suffice.
