Following the grouchy, bitch slap heard 'round the world, Will Smith issued a relatively half-hearted, uninspired apology.  Nonetheless, the Fresh Prince hath spoken.  

 

Just for the record, Will was grouchy because it happened at The Oscars.  

Can't believe nobody has picked up on that.

Except me I guess.

Willie's coming to Star Lake this summer.   The day before my birthday.  A fact that is entirely irrelevant.  He's part of the July 31, 2022 Outlaw Music Festival.  I intend to be there.

Just about everyone has had a Willie Nelson encounter.  He's just one of those pleasant hippies who inadvertently shows up at a frat party or a yard sale, a campfire or taco food truck.  Naturally, I am not immune to the "Willie phenomenon."  One afternoon in the summer of 2006, I was driving Killer's limo in the back of a hotel parking lot in the Adirondack Mountains (Queensbury, NY).  Some guy riding a rusty bicycle was coming straight at me, forcing me to maneuver out of his way.  That guy was Willie Nelson.  He was performing at SPAC in nearby Saratoga later that night.  We chatted for a bit and he even signed my t-shirt. 

I've always thought his bit on Miami Vice was underrated.
