#1325. Herschel Walker

The 2022 Georgia race between Senator Rafael Warnock (D) and Herschel Walker (R)

reminds me a little of the 2006 Governor's race in Pennsylvania.

Republicans needed a charismatic candidate to challenge the relatively popular Governor Ed Rendell in 2006.  So they sought out Steelers ex-wide receiver Lynn Swann.  Swann would go on to win the primary... and then get obliterated in the general.

Ed Rendell - 60.31%

Lynn Swann - 39.60%

The big difference between Swann and Walker?  Swann was mentally sharp and an excellent public speaker.  He also didn't have secret children popping up all over the place.  He also didn't have serious domestic assault charges involving firearms hanging over his head.  He also didn't have lingering tax evasion charges.  He also wasn't a psychopathic liar.

Assuming Walker has the actual courage to debate Warnock, Walker's gonna end up looking like an utter buffoon.  From here on out, I'll be referring to him as the Black Prolapse.

Takeaway: Look for the former Heisman trophy winner to fade bigly as Trump starts complaining about how all the polls are rigged.  That'll be the Orange Prolapse's new strategy when him and some of his hyped endorsements start sagging in the polls leading into early November.  Because hey, why not?  If ain't the votes and fake news, it'll be the polls and fake news.
