Call me a cynic, but I have a strong hunch that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is on the way out.

Chris Deluzio (D-PA) recently called for his resignation.

"I have lost trust in Secretary Lloyd Austin’s leadership of the Defense Department due to the lack of transparency about his recent medical treatment and its impact on the continuity of the chain of command."

Sensing the customary Cabinet shakeups and resignations near the end of a first term, I wonder if Deluzio has set his sights on the Department of Defense.

I like Deluzio.  Spoken with him on a couple occasions.  He listens.  The only downside to this scenario is that Sean Parnell would likely jump back into the fray... and probably snag the seat.
