#267. Go With The Joe

Lemme see if I got this timeline straight.  

In 2017, MLB pitcher Joe Musgrove wins a World Series with the Houston Astros.  Then, he gets traded to the bottom-feeding Pirates, spends three years here in Pittsburgh... and has 3 straight losing seasons.

2018 (6-9)

2019 (11-12)

2020 (1-5)

Naturally, we get rid of him and he ends up in San Diego where he's currently 2-0.  And oh yeah, the guy throws a no-hitter in Arlington, Texas just last night.  The first no-hitter in the San Diego Padres' entire 53-season history.

 

Anyone see a pattern here?  An alarming trend?  How about a slightly convincing narrative?  If by chance, Joey ever returns to the Burgh, I suspect he'll end up like another Joey.  Zasa!

I've seen Joe Musgrove pitch a few times.  But I have absolutely zero desire to do the actual research.  Why?  Because I do not care.  Knowing my penchant for documentation, this is something I would label as a "peculiarity."
