#286. Madoff?

Bernie Madoff, notorious white collar criminal and investment Ponzi schemer, died this morning from natural causes (kidney failure) at a Federal Medical Center in Butner, NC.  He was 82.

Madoff was found guilty of the biggest case of investment fraud in U.S. history.  A pyramid scheme that defrauded roughly 37,000 people in 136 countries over a period of 4 decades.  He literally "made off" with 65 billion dollars.  Hardly chump change.

His crimes earned him a sentence of 150 years.

Although truth be told, he's probably better known for this 5 second pushing and shoving incident.

I have conceived of an eternally fitting legacy for "Bizarro Bernie" (the alternate universe version of populist Senator Bernie Sanders).  Anytime an anchor or news reporter references Bernie Madoff, they should say his last name like this...

Madoff ?  Madoff ?!?  (Madoff's dead?  You kiddin' me?)
