#287. Potter Than Hell

Brooklyn Center, Minnesota ex-police officer Kim Potter was arrested and charged with 2nd degree manslaughter in the shooting death of black motorist Daunte Wright.  

Mr. Wright was operating a motor vehicle with expired tags.  But he also had an air freshener allegedly hanging from his mirror, which in itself, is a criminal act worthy of solitary confinement and eternal incarceration.  

Yes, police can pull you over for hanging an air freshener in your car.

This entire case will likely come down to that infamous little string attached to the vehicular potpourri deodorizer.  As it should.  That god damn tempting miniature loop of string is the 2021 equivalent of the apple in the Garden of Eden.  Other than the standard "do not eat or ingest this product" disclaimer (you know, 'cause those air fresheners smell so deliciously fruity), the primary manufacturer and distributor Little Trees really needs to print an additional "do not hang" warning.  Despite the string's existence of course.

If I were the Wright family, I'd sue the hell of anyone affiliated with Little Trees.  Even Ralph Macchio and the estate of the late Pat Morita.  In Karate Kid Part III, those two had a successful bonsai tree retail outlet known as "Little Trees."  'Twas the envy of corporate giant International Paper.  Deep pockets baby.
