#1280. King Diamond

One of my biggest pet peeves is the celebratory birthday wish tradition on facebook.  Not necessarily the gesture of conveying a generic "HB4U" message honoring your human arrival on the planet earth.  It's more about the routine "hit the like button" electronic flash-flood of replies.  Just seems a little obligatory, uninspired, mundane, etc.

However, there is a lone birthday exception.  An immaculate conception if you will.  Not to be confused with The Immaculate Rejection.  And that's Kim Bendix Peterson a/k/a King Diamond.

Yesterday, June 14, was his birthday.  He's 66 years old.

So all me to present his Flag Day, birthday gift.

King Diamond
sonofsaf

Grandma sells tea cost of living
Wheelchairs aren’t any fun (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Satan isn’t so dumb
Kick it *

Grandma bags tea cost of living
Wheelchairs aren’t any fun
His face inverted with crosses
Satan isn’t so dumb

Whoo, King Diamond
Whoo, King Diamond

Satanic shit isn’t pretty
Mercyful Fate is for you (ooh-ooh-ooh)
And Them’s a Twilight Symphony
From Denmark he ain’t a Jew, no, no

Whoo, King Diamond
Whoo, King Diamond

Grandma bags tea cost of living
Wheelchairs aren’t any fun (ooh-ooh-ooh)
His face inverted with crosses
Satan isn’t so dumb

Whoo, King Diamond, yeah
Whoo, King Diamond

Black Diamond
Kiss

Out on the street for a living
Picture's only begun (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Got you under their thumb
Hit it

Out on the streets for a living
Picture's only begun
Your day is sorrow and madness
Got you under their thumb

Whoo, black diamond
Whoo, black diamond

Darkness will fall on the city
It seems to follow you too (ooh-ooh-ooh)
And though you don't ask for pity
There's nothing that you can do, no, no

Whoo, black diamond
Whoo, black diamond

Out on the streets for a living
Picture's only begun (ooh-ooh-ooh)
Your day is sorrow and madness
Got you under their thumb

Whoo, black diamond, yeah
Whoo, black diamond

* - In my rendition, I prefer a Beastie Boys-styled, (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) "Kick It!"  As opposed to a Kiss-inspired "Hit It!"  Black Diamond is probably my favorite Kiss song.  Detroit Rock City would be a close second.

This is my second parody of Black Diamond.  Last summer, I wrote #590. "Mike Parson."

Just so you know... 'cause I know you don't... Mike Parson is the Republican Governor of Missouri.
