#1068. Lockout

Major League Baseball is entering a "do or die" weekend.  If the players union and the owners don't come to some sort of an arrangement, it looks as though the start of the season will get delayed.  And games will start getting cancelled.  Who knows?  Maybe pro baseball gets flushed down the 2022 toilet.

But I doubt it.

A couple years ago I wrote a comprehensive blog about how to save MLB.  I think my fundamental proposal for revamping the two major conferences (NL & AL) into small market cap teams and big market cap teams is a potential game changer.  One that could substantially reinvigorate America's favorite past time and give the ailing sport some much needed purpose and vision.  Suffice to say, it'll never happen.  Makes too much sense.

Lockout
sonofsaf

Rob Manfred lies his sport is gay
Steroids are forever here to stay
Baseball’s for clowns and such a waste
Players union’s a basket case
Do not whine or pout
The season’s in doubt

The game implodes, money thing
All the injuries and pulled groins sting
Everything’s a free for all
As the players have no control
Do not whine and pout
The season’s in doubt

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

The ownership consists of cunts
Baseball fans want to have some fun
Small markets blow attendance drops
Corked a bat but don’t call the cops
Do not whine and pout
The season’s in doubt

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Do not whine or pout
The season struck out

Lockout
There's gonna be a lockout

Blackout
Scorpions

I realize I missed a day
But I'm too wrecked to care anyway
I look around and see this face
What the hell have I lost my taste
Don't want to find out
Just want to cut out

My head explodes, my ears ring
I can't remember just where I've been
The last thing that I recall
I got lost in a deep black hole
Don't want to find out
Just want to cut out

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

I grab my things and make my run
On the way out, another one
Would like to know before I stop
Did I make it or did I flop
Don't want to find out
Just want to get out

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Blackout
I really had a blackout

Don't want to find out
Just want to get out

Blackout
I really had a blackout!

Anyone who refers to the Scorpions as "The Scorps"... well, let's just say it has been a longtime metal pet peeve.

Favorite tune off the Scorpions studio album Blackout?  Probably "Can't Live Without You."  "Blackout" being a close second.
