#922. It Must Have Been The Covid

So the Omicron variant has been rolling through the United States... much like Trump administration Proud boys entering and exiting a McDonald's drive thru.

Kinda like... you deserve a break today... in McDonald, PA.

Truth be told, McDonald is a reasonably nice suburb.  I mean, I'd never wanna live there.  But that's just me.  And just for the record, McDonald does not have a McDonald's.  The closest ones are in Imperial and Bridgeville.  (Just in case you're one of those fringe fast foodies who craves attention posting reviews on the yelper-net)

It Must Have Been The Covid
sonofsaf

Donald had a bad case of the Covid
Still was livin’, livin’, livin’
With that dumb orange hair
All a show, it must have been the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

All a show, it must have been the Covid
The Covid’s not for livin’ with that dumb orange hair
All a show, maybe it was the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

My fears are greater than
Thoughts of tyranny
Child separations show
One more atrocity
If I smell another cunt
Ivanka’s it ain’t free
Maybe she’ll give me Covid
And spread animosity

All a show, it must have been the Covid
The Covid’s not for livin’ with that strange orange hair
All a show, maybe it was the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

Pain in the ass Donald Trump blows
Tell me something I don’t know
Melania’s a whore
Jesus is the son of God blood
Living’s such a bore
So deranged this ain’t fun
Like genital warts

All a show, it must have been the Covid
The Covid’s not for livin’ with that strange orange hair
All a show, maybe it was the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

Donald had a bad case of the Covid
Still was livin’, livin’, livin’
With that strange orange hair
All a show, it must have been the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

All a show, it must have been the Covid
The Covid’s not for livin’ with that strange orange hair
All a show, maybe it was the Covid
A shit show and I do not really care

It Must Have Been The Roses
Grateful Dead

Annie laid her head down in the roses
She had ribbons, ribbons, ribbons
In her long brown hair
I don't know, it must have been the roses
All I know is I could not leave her there

I don't know, it must have been the roses
The roses or the ribbons in her long brown hair
I don't know, maybe it was the roses
All I know was I could not leave her there

Ten years the waves rolled the
Ships home from the sea
Thinking well how it may blow
In all good company
If I tell another what
Your own lips told to me
Let me lay neath the roses
Let my eyes no longer see

I don't know, it must have been the roses
The roses or the ribbons in her long brown hair
I don't know, maybe it was the roses
All I know was I could not leave her there

One pane of glass in the window
No one is complaining though
Come in and shut the door
Faded is the crimson from the
Ribbons that she wore
And it's strange how no one
Comes 'round anymore

I don't know, it must have been the roses
The roses or the ribbons in her long brown hair
I don't know, maybe it was the roses
All I know was I could not leave her there

Annie laid her head down in the roses
She had ribbons, ribbons, ribbons
In her long brown hair
I don't know, it must have been the roses
All I know is I could not leave her there

I don't know, it must have been the roses
The roses or the ribbons in her long brown hair
I don't know, maybe it was the roses
All I know was I could not leave her there

Roses is a decent Dead ballad.  Mostly because they only played it once a year.  Gotta be honest though.  If it was anyone other than Jerry Garcia singing it, this song wouldn't even register on my radar.
