#4183. Pink Slime

Fifteen years ago, McDonald's had to deal with a really bad public relations fiasco.  Concerning the use of a pink slime foam preservative in their fine cuisine.  Ground and pound that Quarter Pound!

Butt ahead of the 2026 mid-term elections, the term "pink slime" has reemerged.  It goes hand-in-hand with this new wave of Republican campaign slam-ads utilizing politically AI generated slop.

So what is Pink Slime Journalism?

Definition: Automated or low-wage-produced websites that pose as independent, local community newspapers.
Purpose: They exploit news deserts (areas lacking real local coverage) to harvest user data, gain ad revenue, or push hidden partisan and corporate agendas.
Tactics: They use fake journalist profiles, scraped content, and fabricated images to look authentic. Recent examples include fake regional mastheads appearing in Australia and partisan networks surging ahead of elections.

My suggestion would be to introduce a slight variation.  When material emanates from Trump's Truth Social account, I'd encourage the media to use the term "Orange Slime."

Hey, at least it's consistent with the Orange Prolapse narrative/shitshow.

Prime Time
Alan Parsons Project

Well even the longest night won't last forever
But too many hopes and dreams won't see the light
And all of the plans I make won't come together

Something in the air
Maybe for the only time in my life
Something in the air
Turning me around and guiding me right

And it's a prime time, maybe the stars were right
I had a premonition, it's gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight

Well even the brightest star won't shine forever
But all of the hands I play are working out right
And every move I make feels like a winner

Something in the air
Maybe for the only time in my life
Something in the air
Turning me around and guiding me right

And it's a prime time, maybe the stars were right
I had a premonition it's gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight

Alan Parsons Project has played the Burgh a grand total of 3 times.  Quite possibly the most underrated band of all-time.  Not joking.  I just fetched some bootlegs off the internet.  Makes for some good Octoberfest-oriented fall music.
