My boyfriend and I have lived downtown for around six months now. We walk our dog on the bridges and around downtown everyday. We often come across what’s shown in the photo above, dog poop that has been sprinkled with these flags added. We have been perplexed about this for months because whoever is doing it is extremely quick. As in, we will walk him in the morning, there will be a pile of unpicked up poop, and then by the afternoon it is sprinkled and flagged. The flags mostly have specific messaging about politics or Pittsburgh sports. We’re mostly just curious about the logistics of this. Is it one person? Is it a group? Is it the owners dog, and then they don’t pick it up, and then they flag it to send a message? Or is it a protest about people not picking up their dog’s poop. Does anyone have any insight? We are so intrigued.
