I've decided to write some Christian-oriented parodies for generically universal/wildly popular wedding songs. Leading the pack is shoe factory assembly line worker turned mutli-millionaire... Maine's very own Ray LaMontagne.
Christ Is The Real King
sonofsaf
Maybe
It’s all about God, maybe
The Jewish faith is a fraud
Everything we hold dear
No longer blind
Jesus time
And maybe
You pray unto thee, it's crazy
It's like you act so godly
You make it cheesier
To tease me, and you don’t even ask why
Santa Claus
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, maybe)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, ooh)
When you’re dead you will see
Maybe
Christians are not gay, maybe
You know, my hope is that they stay away from me
But a flood of blood will always spill today
Santa Claus
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, maybe)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, ooh)
When you’re dead you will see
Going to church seems like a chore
It’s worse than kissing the Orange Prolapse ring
Melania’s a whore
Trump is wrong, and he lost his mind
Well, let me tell you that whole fake news thing’s a lie
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, maybe)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, ooh)
When you’re dead you will see
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, maybe)
Christ is the real king
(Christ’s the real king, ooh)
When you’re dead you will see
Christ is the real king
(Yeah, yeah)
Christ is the real king
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
Christ is the real king
(Now, now, now, now, now)
‘Cause when you’re dead you will see
You Are The Best Thing
Ray LaMontagne
Baby
It's been a long day, baby
Things ain't been going my way
You know I need you here
To clear my mind
All the time
And baby
The way you move me, it's crazy
It's like you see right through me
And make it easier
You please me, you don't even have to try
Oh, because
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, baby)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, ooh)
Ever happened to me
Baby
We've come a long way, baby
You know, I hope and I pray that you believe me
When I say this love will never fade away
Oh, because
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, baby)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, ooh)
Ever happened to me
Both of us have known love before
To come on up promising like the spring
To walk on out the door
Hearts are strong, and our hearts are kind
Well, let me tell you just exactly what's on my mind
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, baby)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, ooh)
Ever happened to me
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, baby)
You are the best thing
(You're the best thing, ooh)
Ever happened to me
You are the best thing
(Yeah, yeah)
You are the best thing
(Yeah, yeah, yeah)
You are the best thing
(Now, now, now, now, now)
That ever happened to me
Ray LaMontagne:
4-3-09, Palace Theatre, Greensburg, PA
6-6-14, Stage AE, Pittsburgh, PA
I enjoyed it when LaMontagne admonished the outdoor Stage AE crowd for being too noisy and disrespectful. The upscale, yinzer crowd fired back with a relatively healthy chorus of boos.
Please do not share this material with musician Ray LaMontagne and/or Jesus Christ.
