#459. McGahn

After years of stalling, Don McGahn, former White House lawyer for the Orange Prolapse, finally agreed to testify before Congress.  Behind closed doors of course.  McGahn just might be the first in what history comes to regard as the dominos of the "reluctant inner circle."

Keep 'em comin'.  Bring on Bill Barr and Jeff Sessions!

McGahn

Pick me, won't you pick me explain just what I mean
Cold as ice, Saferstein, McGahn

When Don McGahn’s testifyin' the Trumpers will deceive
McGahn’s a fucking roll of the dice not filled with orange disease
He’s not wheeling and a dealing, won’t take you for a ride
Less apt to make denials the truth is something he can’t hide

McGahn’s a lawyer they say, makes it rain
It doesn’t matter if you’re straight or gay
Oh McGahn, come on now, McGahn

When Don McGahn is testifyin’, behind closed doors don’t you know
He’s not Orange Prolapse adoring, all that shit gets pretty old
Trump can’t tweet about his badness like he did the last four years
The soul of a hole of a bagel creatin’ nonstop fear

McGahn’s a lawyer they say, makes it rain
It doesn’t matter if you’re straight or gay
Oh pick me, won't you pick my nose really go to town
Take notes neatly, do not frown, come on, McGahn
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah

Yeah, let me hear ya
Oh-oh, yeah, yeah

Jazzman
Carole King

Lift me, won't you lift me above the old routine?
Make it nice, play it clean, jazzman

When the jazzman's testifyin' a faithless man believes
He can sing you into paradise or bring you to your knees
It's a gospel kind of feelin', a touch of Georgia slide
A song of pure revival and a style that's sanctified

Jazzman take my blues away, make my pain
The same as yours with every change you play
Oh jazzman, come on now, jazzman

When the jazzman is signifyin', and the band is windin' low
It's the late night side of morning in the darkness of his soul
He can fill a room with sadness as he fills his horn with tears
He can cry like a fallen angel when risin' time is near

Jazzman take my blues away, make my pain
The same as yours with every change you play
Oh lift me, won't you lift me with every turn around
Play it sweetly, take me down, come on, jazzman
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah

Yeah, let me hear ya
Oh-oh, yeah, yeah

Carole King has only played Pittsburgh once.  Back in the summer of 2010, her and James Taylor closed out the iconic Igloo with a concert in the round.  Mason attended and said it was one of her all-time favs.

Please do not share this information with former White House lawyer Don McGahn.
