Back in 2008, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito neglected to disclose a private jet trip to Alaska along with an extended stay at a luxury resort.    

 

The vacation was financed by multi-billionaire GOP mega-donor and influence peddler Paul Singer.   Singer is a hedge fund manager with a net worth of 5.5 billion.

When questioned about his abject failure to hold himself accountable, Alito claimed he did absolutely nothing wrong. And there was a "vacant seat on the plane" so he actually saved the U.S. taxpayers countless dollars by not flying commercial.  Uh, yeah.

Meanwhile, Singer's company had 10 cases before the court.  In 2014, he was awarded with a 2.4 billion settlement against the country of Argentina. 

A good question: Did Sammy consider recusing himself from the case?  Uh, no.
