He likely feels a little blurred and overshadowed. Blunt joins the ever-growing list of establishment Republican who are opting out. He joins Pat Toomey, Richard Shelby, Rob Portman, and Richard Burr. Most from critical swing states. All of them have something in common. They all suddenly wish to spend more time with their grandchildren. Amazing how the desire to patriotically serve one's country and constituents quickly dissipates with the realization that they'll probably end up in the minority and lose their chairmanships. And never discount the Trump factor. Not everyone embraces the shallow gullibility of a Lindsay Graham. Not everyone feels comfortable playing the role of sycophantic dumb-shit while watching their entire political legacy get dismantled and flushed down a golden toilet.
