#191. Springer

Geraldo Rivera recently floated a run for U.S. Senate in Ohio.  He lives in Shaker Heights.  A ritzy eastern Cleveland suburb.  

He even came up with a Trumpy slogan. 

But he quickly had second thoughts.  Apparently, his employer Fox News weighed in.  And they weren't terribly enthused.  So Geraldo immediately downplayed the idea.

After a 36-hour pondering whirlwind I’ve decided not to seek public office. Erica and I deeply appreciate the good wishes of those cheering the idea.

But it got me to thinking.  For the past 20 years, I've heard that Jerry Springer is considering running for Senate.  He has homes in Cincinnati, Sarasota and Chicago... but I think his heart's in O-HI-O.  Hey, it would have been relatively entertaining.  The battle of the tabloid entertainment sensationalists for political supremacy.

The Cranberries came to Pittsburgh three times in the mid 90's.  Twice at the AJ Palumbo Center and once at Star Lake.  Missed all three shows.
