#177. Breonna

A year ago, some Louisville cops, under the guise of a no-knock warrant, staged a raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment in the middle of the night.

As is often the case, they were looking for "the drugs."  But everything quickly went to shit.  Sensing a home invasion, Breonna's boyfriend fired a single warning shot.  Needless to say, the cops unloaded.  Taylor who was sleeping at the time, took 6 bullets (out of the 32 fired).  She died at the scene.  Strangely enough, no narcotics were ever discovered.  Although, truth be told, the cops may have found a marijuana pipe on the living room table.  Probably wasn't placed in evidence as the optics would've been counterproductive. 

Pig Hankison was fired for "reckless endangerment."  The other two, Pig Mattingly and Pig Cosgrove, were reassigned to "administrative duties."

Yesterday, a Kentucky judge finally dismissed all charges against Kenneth Walker III.  Hmm, only took a year to clear that up.
