It has been a while since I penned a song about Senator John Thune.
Thune views the Orange Prolapse with curiosity and suspicion. |
Thune is quietly working behind the scenes. Doing the necessary "backroom jizz mopping" in order to cement his status as leader of the Republican Senate for when Mitch McConnell retires, slips into a coma, or dies. The other two stately port-a-jons in contention, John Cornyn (R-TX) and Jon Barraso (R-WY), aren't going to make the cut.
Heading down to Wheeling later today for the annual Cricktoberfest. Crick Yeah!
Big day tomorrow in the Burgh. Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown are doing a "get out the vote" rally near PNC Park at 4pm. I had no idea those two were so civically motivated. Then, Steelers minority owner Thomas Tull (chapter 7) and the Orange Prolapse will be making a shit-studded entrance into Acrid Turd Stadium for the night game. The excitement in the air will be palpable. The stench... as well!
It'll gonna be a great day to go old school (early/mid 90's). 50-100 flyers and a staple gun. Gotta step up!

I ain’t no spoon
Ain’t nobody gonna turn me around
I ain’t no spoon
Ain’t nobody gonna turn me around
Put your sapphire away
On the window don’t be afraid
That’s right
That’s right
I ain’t no spoon
Ain’t nobody gonna spin me around
I ain’t no spoon
Ain’t nobody gonna spin me around
People so fine on the right
Far enough if I’m the left side
I ain’t no spoon
Ain’t nobody gonna spin me around
No, not me
No, not me
Put your sapphire back
On the western light
That’s right
That’s right
Mazzy Star played the Burgh just once. At the Metropol in the Strip District back in 1994. Never seen her.
I have some unusually vivid memories of heading out to a Grateful Dead show at Deer Creek from the summer of '94.
It was me, Lisa Carp, Cha Cha and this other guy from Shadyside whose name escapes me. We listened to that tape (So Tonight That I Might See) on the 5 hour drive out. Over and over.
