#371. Ain't Too Proud Of Craig

"You have a great police chief. I watch him, I really like him a lot.  I think he’s terrific.  I think he’s just an incredible representative too.  He speaks so well about a very important subject, which is crime and the rioting and all the things you see in certain cities." --- Donald J. Trump

The fluorescent chump was referencing Detroit Police Chief James Craig who has set his sights on the Michigan Governor's race.

Not to dispense free political advice, but if I was a black Republican male running for Governor in the state of Michigan, I'd take a gander at the last black Republican who ran statewide in Michigan and received a hearty endorsement from the neon McOgre.

In 2020, incumbent Senator Gary Peters defeated Republican challenger John James

Granted it was close.  One critical distinction though.  This was BEFORE the insurrection which turned off a lot of independent voters... of which Michigan assuredly has plenty.

My advice to James Craig.  I wouldn't seek out endorsements from the ex-commander-in-clown.  Funny thing though, Trump will predictably go out of his way to pretend he gives a shit about what happens in Michigan.  Whether candidate Craig likes it or not.  And what if it's a nailbiter finish?  Which is certainly possible.  Trust me, the Orange Prolapse will emerge, pop out or whatever, and invariably try to come to the rescue.  Not sure I'd want Trump acting as my public relations/campaign manager.  He's been on a consistent losing streak as of late.  Sad!

Ain’t Too Proud Of Craig
sonofsaf

I know are a piggy
And I’ll accuse you don’t you know
If I have to take a knee for some empathy
Not a crime, 'cause you don’t mean shit to me

Ain’t too proud of Craig he’s not worth shit (the barkin’)
Please go fuck him Detroit (that would blow)
Why so loud you see, maybe, maybe
Please go fuck him, world (that would blow)

All the cops I ain’t a fan
Some contraband, take me for a ride
And if I have to lie to cuff you
I don't mind killin’ I’ll shoot you dead or alive

Ain’t too proud of Craig he’s not worth shit (the barkin’)
Please go fuck him Detroit (that would blow)
Why so loud you see, maybe, maybe
Please go fuck him, world (that would blow)

If bullets go deep into your chest
Without delay
Just to stop you from talkin’ that way
I shoot giraffes, just so they cannot stand
Don’t give a fuck about you, not part of my plan

Ain’t too proud of Craig he’s not worth shit (the barkin’)
Please go fuck him Detroit (that would blow)
Why so loud you see, maybe, maybe
Please go fuck him, world (that would blow)

Now I’ve tortured as a creep, hatred right from the start
Once killed a pimp and his whore
Hell of a lotta fun, they’re dead barely maybe
If dyin’ ain’t that fun, talkin’ tales folklore

Ain’t too proud of Craig he’s not worth shit (the barkin’)
Please go fuck him Detroit (that would blow)
Why so loud you see, maybe, maybe
Please go fuck him, world (that would blow)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (the barkin’)

Ain’t Too Proud To Beg
The Temptations

I know you wanna leave me
But I refuse to let you go
If I have to beg and plead for your sympathy
I don't mind, 'cause you mean that much to me

Ain't too proud to beg and you know it (sweet darlin')
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)
Ain't too proud to plead, baby, baby
Please don't leave me, girl (don't you go)

Now I heard a cryin' man
Is half a man, with no sense of pride
But if I have to cry to keep you
I don't mind weepin' if it'll keep you by my side

Ain't too proud to beg, sweet darlin'
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)
Ain't too proud to plead, baby, baby
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)

If I have to sleep on your doorstep
All night and day
Just to keep you from walkin' away
Let your friends laugh, even this I can stand
'Cause I wanna keep you, any way I can

Ain't too proud to beg (sweet darlin')
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)
Ain't too proud to plead, baby, baby
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)

Now I've gotta love so deep, in the pit of my heart
And each day it grows more and more
I'm not ashamed to come, and plead to you baby
If pleadin' keeps you from, walkin' out that door

Ain't too proud to beg and you know it (sweet darlin')
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)
Ain't too proud to plead, baby, baby
Please don't leave me girl (don't you go)
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby (sweet darling')

Since 1963, The Temptations, or I imagine some related form of that which is tempting, have played in Pittsburgh a grand total of 13 times.  As you may have surmised, the original members had a lot of issues with drugs, alcohol, suicide, etc.  Never seen 'em.

Hope someone out there noticed the subtle parody correlation:  A Mo-Town Temptations song for a black candidate straight outta Detroit.

Just an aside.  Crazy coincidence.  A few years ago, Mason and I visited the Motown Museum... on the same exact day that Aretha Franklin died (August 16, 2018).  We were up in Detroit to see Jeff Lynne at Little Caesar's Arena.

Please do not share this material with James Craig (R-MI), John James (R-MI), Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Senator Gary Peters (R-MI) and/or former President Donald J. Trump.
