#365. Ronny He Would

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just played the starring role in a Trumpian-inspired bill signing ceremony (standard Jim Crow voter suppression legislation).  Twas a Fox News exclusive!  Surrounded by his favorite political tighty-whities and replete with perfunctory congratulatory celebrations.  Deafening applause, high fives, and tears of joy.  In a word... sick.

If I had to wager a guess, I think Ron DeSantis is the best positioned political heavyweight for the 2024 Republican nomination.  The Senators (Cruz, Hawley, Scott, etc.) pretty much cancel each other out.  Same logic would apply to the top tier Republican statesmen (Pence, Pompeo, Haley).  Out of all of the sicko sycophants, I just think DeSantis has the best "lane."  The real question is... who will Rupert Murdoch support.  In tandem with the Orange Prolapse of course.

If DeSantis gets the nomination, I suspect he'll pick a woman for veep.  Either dark horse Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD).  Doubtful.  Or former South Carolina Governor/UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.  Probably Haley.

The hardcore right is bitter and their leaders whack
Marjorie Taylor Greene is a Q-Anon quack
Oh, take a dump on Air Force One shitting and get laid
Voter law suppression is how he gits paid
He’s even married but we think he is gay
Oh my God what would the church-a-holics say

Go go

His mother hates the coloreds and the lesbians
DeSantis hates the trannies he is not a fan
Racist hatred coming you can hear the sound
Tonguing Trump’s orange prolapse avoidin’ the brown
Next coup d’etat there’ll be plenty of fights
Saying Ronny he would that’s right

Go go
Go Ronny go
Go go go Ronny go
Go go go Ronny go
Go go go Ronny go
Go
Ronny he would

Johnny B. Goode
Chuck Berry

Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell

Go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Johnny B. Goode

He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineers would see him sitting in the shade
Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made
The people passing by they would stop and say
"Oh my what that little country boy could play"

Go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Go Johnny go go
Johnny B. Goode

His mother told him "someday you will be a man
And you will be the leader of a big old band
Many people coming from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun go down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying "Johnny B. Goode tonight"

Go go
Go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode

Never saw Chuck Berry in concert.  Interestingly enough, he played Pittsburgh a grand total of 21 times.  Mostly during the late 1950's at the Syria Mosque, the Stanley Theater and some venue known as "Rock and Roll Club."  Berry passed away in 2017 at the age of 90.

So instead, we'll go with the Dead.  I saw them close out their second set in Deer Creek w/ Johnny B. Goode.  Twas good.  Noblesville, Indiana (6-22-93)

Help > Slip > Frank, Wang Dang Doodle, High Time, It's All Over Now,  Tom Thumb's Blues, Tennessee Jed, Picasson Moon

Victim, Crazy Fingers, Looks Like Rain > He's Gone > Drumz > Miracle > Days Between > Johnny B. Goode  * Liberty

"After that hyper-charged first set, you got no other choice but to slow it down and grunge it out for the second." --- Block Head.

23 years later I saw Dead & Company close out their second set w/ Johnny B. Goode for a second time.  At my traditional stomping grounds... Star Lake.

7/13/2016 First Niagara Pavilion, Burgettstown, PA
I: Jam > Hell in a Bucket, Bertha, Liberty > Maggie's Farm, Cold Rain and Snow > Looks Like Rain, Row Jimmy > Throwing Stones

II: Shakedown Street > Uncle John's Band > All Along the Watchtower > China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider > Drums > Space > Black Peter > Johnny B. Goode

E: In the Midnight Hour

Crazy setlist.  Really kept you guessing.

Please do not share this material with Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and/or friends of his... like fellow Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL)... who will soon be charged with child sex trafficking, statutory rape, and Dog knows what else.  Hint: Bestiality.
