Nine Dead in San Jose, CA

It all begs the question.  Do you know the way to San Jose?  Eh?

In the wake of another mass shooting...

Liberal media outlet narrative:  Our town will never be the same.  No words can describe the heartache. We must never forget the victims.  No other country is plagued by the frequency of mass shootings.  Our society has grown numb to this epidemic.  We must do everything in our power to stop the cycle of gun violence.  Thoughts and prayers.

Conservative media outlet narrative:  The only person who can stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.  There are no bad guns, only bad people.  We must address the root problem of mental illness.  No legislation could have prevented this tragedy.  The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.  Thoughts and prayers.

The lone constant --- both sides always close on "thoughts and prayers."  Which essentially means conflicted helplessness and utter futility.

30% of adult Americans own a gun.  Another 10% don't own a gun, but live in a home where there is a gun.  That's nearly half of all civilian residences.  That's a lot of guns.

U.S. population = 326 million.  

Number of guns in the U.S. = 393 million. 

That's 120 guns per 100 people.

That's a lot of guns.

There does exist credible arguments about placing restrictions and limitations on gun ownership.  However, if you're one of those people who seriously believe the government is going to "come to your home" and "take your guns away"... well, you're fundamentally delusional.
