#121. Lance Bottoms Girl

I was just watching Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms on Katie Tur.

She made a relatively desperate request for fans to stay away from the NBA All-Star Game at State Farm Arena in Hotlanta.  Bars and restaurants too.  In all candor, I didn't even know the event was happening this weekend.  And "State Farm" Arena might possibly be the worst venue name in the history of our country.  Boring.  #Countryside (defunct mortgage provider) #NeverForget

But if you take a sec and think about it.  Well, it's kind of a strange predicament.  Governor Jack Kemp (R-GA) decides to "open up" the entire state in order to placate Donald Trump.  But then the Orange Prolapse gets his ass kicked and is no longer in charge.  And Kemp goes on to get further marginalized and humiliated when he won't say that Trump won the state by "one vote"... when he lost by over 10,000+.

Now Kemp, no matter what, is failed to stick with the failed Trumpian regimen.  While Mayor Lance-Bottoms of Georgia's biggest city instantly becomes the populist hero.  A few years from now, I imagine both her and Stacey Abrams will be gunning for the governorship.  Unless Perdue beats Warnock in 2022.  However, there very well could be some "high profile minority Democratic primary friction" way off in the distance.   Just something to keep an eye on.

Never saw Queen live.  They came to the Burgh only once in 1980.  Played the Civic Arena.

Scratch that.  I did see the 7-31-19 Queen w/ Adam Lambert show at PPG Paints.  Well worth it.  Even though I'm virtually certain we both scored freebies.
