149. Rick Scott Hurrah

Senator Rick Scott is worth a quarter of a billion dollars.  So it would be a herculean task to destroy him financially.  Instead, we should seek to humiliate and embarrass him.

(Senator Scott eagerly signs a bill to defund Planned Parenthood)

Let us undermine Senator Rick Scott's pro-life record and destroy his credibility with the hardcore anti-abortion zealots. Every time he makes a public speaking performance, I would humbly ask any journalist or commentator to introduce him with the memorable Jethro Tull refrain...

Snot is running down his nose!

But let's alter the lyrics.  Switcharroni!  Switcharooni!  Switcharroni!

Scott is killing embryos!

I Fought The Law
Grateful Dead

Breakin' rocks in the hot sun
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I needed money 'cause I had none
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won

I left my baby and it feels so bad
Guess my race is run
She's the best girl that I ever had
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the...

Robbin' people with a six-gun
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I lost my girl, and I lost my fun
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won

I left my baby, and it feels so bad
Guess my race is run
She's the best girl that I ever had
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the...

I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the...

Yeah, I know.  The Clash wrote "I Fought The Law."  But they were a little before my time.  Interestingly enough, The Clash showed up in Pittsburgh on 3 separate occasions in 1982.  Twice at CMU and once at the Stanley Theater.  But I was only 12 years old.  Not quite yet in full-boar concert going mode.

Quite possibly the absolute worst Dead show I ever saw was the the infamous Richfield blizzard show of 1993.  Needless to say, I had a blast.  As did everyone.  But God-damn!  With expectations totally off the chart because of the previous night's cancellation, well... that show totally stunk.  Just uninspired and flat.  Anyone who disagrees with this assessment doesn't know shit.  Regardless, they did encore with the first ever "I Fought The Law."
